Haynes Boone is pleased to announce the addition of Counsel Alok Choksi to the firm’s New York office and Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group. Choksi joins from White & Case LLP, where he spent the last five years.

Choksi’s practice revolves around equity capital markets in the representation of issuers, underwriters and investors in connection with a wide range of registered and unregistered offerings of equity and equity-linked securities.

"I am thrilled to join the growing Capital Markets Practice Group at Haynes Boone and to service the firm’s impressive breadth of clients,” Choksi said. “I look forward to collaborating with this team of talented lawyers and contributing to the group’s expansion."

Choksi represents investment banks, domestic issuers and foreign private issuers in connection with equity securities offerings, including registered offerings (such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, confidentially marketed public offerings, registered direct offerings and at-the-market offering programs) and private placements (such as 4(a)(2) offerings, PIPEs and 144A/Regulation S offerings). He also counsels public companies on disclosure issues, ongoing reporting and corporate governance practices.

Among other notable transactions he has worked on, Choksi represented Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and Citigroup, as representatives of the underwriters, on JSC Kaspi.kz's $1 billion US IPO, as well as J.P. Morgan and Leerink Partners, as representatives of the underwriters, on Wave Life Sciences Ltd.'s $115 million follow-on offering. He also represented Guggenheim Securities and Cantor, as representatives of the underwriters, on Scynexis, Inc.’s approximately $85 million follow-on offering of common stock, pre-funded warrants and warrants, and Oppenheimer & Co., as representative of the underwriters, on Backblaze, Inc.'s $100 million IPO.

“We are very excited to be adding Alok to our expanding capital markets practice,” said Rick Werner, Co-Chair of the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group. “He brings a wealth of experience to our practice as we continue to provide top-tier services to our clients.”
