A Haynes Boone litigation team secured a win on behalf of firm client AT&T in the 281st Judicial District Court in Houston. AT&T filed suit after the defendant negligently drilled into and damaged the company's underground facilities.
After a three-day bench trial, the Court ruled in favor of AT&T, awarding damages for the repair of the global telecommunications company's underground facilities. The ruling was issued Feb. 26, 2021.
The Haynes Boone team included Houston-based Partner Michael Mazzone and Associates Nik Abraham and Amy Rose. Under the guidance of Mr. Mazzone, Mr. Abraham was first chair during the trial and Ms. Rose served as second chair.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person trial in October necessitated additional safety measures, including masks and face shields. Witnesses were presented both in-person and via Zoom.
