Doing Business in the Bakken Shale: What In-house Counsel Need to Know in 2019

Rapid growth of oil and gas plays has spurred an energy renaissance in the U.S. – and with this growth, a number of legal challenges for the companies operating in these plays. Nowhere is this truer than in North Dakota's Bakken Shale, which has transformed the state's economy and made it the nation's second largest producer of oil behind Texas.

We invite you to join us for a program about the unique issues and challenges associated with operating in the Bakken. Our Haynes Boone speakers will be joined by North Dakota lawyers John W. Morrison and Paul J. Forster of Crowley Fleck and Lawrence Bender of Fredrikson & Byron who have counseled companies operating in the Bakken for many years.

TX: This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of 3.5 credit hours, of which 0.50 credit hours will apply to legal ethics/professional responsibility credit.

CO: This course has been approved by the Colorado Supreme Court Continuing Legal and Judicial Education Committee in the amount of 4.00 credit hours, of which 0.6 hours will apply to Ethics credit.

ND: This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar Association of North Dakota in the amount of 3.5 credit hours, of which 0.5 credit hours will apply to legal ethics/professional responsibility credit.
