Elizabeth Wirmani
Biography
Elizabeth Wirmani is counsel in the Dallas and New York offices of Haynes Boone. Her practice focuses on complex business litigation disputes requiring a sophisticated and experienced legal strategy.
Elizabeth has deep experience in commercial litigation including contract enforcement, energy litigation, securities litigation, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court, and trade secret, trademark litigation, and employment litigation. She has practiced before state courts, federal courts, appellate courts, and various administrative bodies.
Elizabeth previously was the Chief Operating Officer of a Dallas-based nonprofit. In that role, she gained extensive experience leading all core business functions, including governance, operational management/resource optimization, strategic design and planning, innovation and scale design, data management and evaluation, program management, risk evaluation and mitigation, finance, legal, human resources, and information technology. Elizabeth uses this experience to bring an informed legal and business perspective to her clients.

- International Exploration Company: defense of a billion-dollar claim involving fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty in connection with a multi-billion-dollar asset sale
- National Pharmaceutical Manufacturer: defend against class action and products liability claims
- International Service Provider: provide counsel related to a billion-dollar asset sale, including advice regarding disclosure statements, various employment agreements, and domestic and international privacy laws
- Regional Medical Services Group: arbitrate enforcement of company policies and formation documents against members of the professional association
- International Business Family: defend against fraudulent transfer claims in highly disputed adversary proceeding.
- International Oil and Gas Company: represent in the bankruptcy of another multi-million-dollar exploration and production company with specific focus on mitigating the client’s risk with respect to decommissioning obligations, including offshore wells and platforms formerly owned by the client.
- National Telecommunications Company: defend against various age, race, and workers’ compensation discrimination claims, including briefing summary judgment motions, presenting mediation opening statement, and negotiating settlements
- National Consumer Product Manufacturer: prepare winning summary judgment motion on age and race discrimination claims and successfully defend ruling on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
- National Franchisor: successful defend franchisor against claims of breach of contract, fraud and tortious interference relating to system requirements resisted by major franchisee
- Regional Franchisor: pursued to favorable resolution a declaratory judgment action attacking major franchisee's claims of breach of contract relating to franchisor's system requirements, resulting in a favorable restructuring of the relationship as well as resolution of claims of restraint of trade and price discrimination
- Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States: prepare briefing to the United States Supreme Court in defense of the Mojave Desert Veterans Memorial
