Biography

Nick Monier represents financial institutions and borrowers in commercial loan transactions. Whether assisting clients or at home in Dallas, he dedicates himself to his clients, his profession, and his community.

Nick has represented agents, lenders and borrowers in syndicated credit transactions involving revolving credit facilities, term loans, life insurance facilities, letters of credit, and acquisition financings. He has helped lenders enter into loan facilities, represented agents in amending and restating existing credit agreements, and aided borrowers in financing for acquisitions of over 75 companies. Nick has experience in secured and unsecured credit facilities to real estate investment funds and to the hospitality industry. Nick was an in-house secondee attorney in the syndicated loans legal group for a large international banking institution from May 2020- October 2021, where he assisted and managed outside counsel in a variety of lending transactions. Nick also worked on confidentiality agreements, highly confidential letters, engagement letters, commitment papers and the like during his secondment. Nick has been a recurring presenter with Strafford Webinars and other continuing legal education third-party providers. His presentations include, “Anatomy of a Loan Agreement”, “Anatomy of a Deal”, “Working Effectively with Outside Counsel” and many others.

Nick is an active United States Tennis Association and Ultimate Tennis competitor and competes in team and individual tournaments in the men’s 4.5 division. He is an avid runner, completing the New Orleans Marathon twice, the Dallas Marathon once, and will run the New York City Marathon in 2024, raising funds for charity. Nick is a Teach for America 2008 New York City corps alum and was a member of the DFW Teach for America Alumni Board from 2018-2021. He chairs the annual Haynes Boone Dallas office Salvation Army Gift Drive, and is on the American Cancer Society in Dallas. Nick is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Nick lives in University Park with his wife, Julie, and their two children, Lilly and Will.
