Haynes Boone Collects Gifts for 100 Angels in 2021 Gift Drive

December 03, 2021

A longstanding tradition of collecting holiday gifts for children in need through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program continues to thrive at Haynes Boone’s Dallas office.

Lawyers and staff collected gifts for more than 100 Angels during this year’s gift drive, led by Associate
Nick Monier. The gifts were delivered to a Salvation Army drop-off site on Thursday.

A tradition since 1979, the Angel Tree Program serves millions of children every year. Recipients of the gifts come from families who have applied for Christmas assistance through the Salvation Army. Businesses like Haynes Boone adopt angels as a community service project. Volunteers shop for specific Angels, and the Salvation Army delivers the gifts to the individuals in time for Christmas.

Nick – who has led the firm’s campaign for six years – organized this year’s drive with help from Associates Chelsi Levy and Maurice Foster and Business Development Manager Leigh Doyle. Staff members and lawyers collaborated to collect mounds of gifts and support the initiative.

Nick said he enjoyed being able to do something tangible to help low-income kids who might not otherwise have any gifts for Christmas. Nick is a former teacher who previously worked with low-income children.

“I am always pleasantly surprised at the positive feedback I receive from the Haynes Boone gift-givers,” Nick said. “Our employees who participate really enjoy it.”

The Salvation Army is still accepting online Angel Tree adoptions here.
