Six Haynes Boone partners are recognized as leaders in their practice areas in the 2022 Lexology Client Choice Awards:

Lexology distributes international legal updates, analysis and insights to in-house counsel worldwide. Now in its 17th year, Lexology’s Client Choice Awards recognizes “those law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service.”

Winners are selected through surveys to in-house counsel. Clients rate lawyers and law firms on the following criteria: “quality of legal advice, commercial awareness, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, value for money, responsiveness, effective communication, clarity of documentation, sharing of expertise, appropriate staffing, project management, use of technology, loyalty and ethics,” according to Lexology.

Below are additional details about the Haynes Boone honorees.

Purvi Patel Albers

Purvi is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and serves as trusted adviser and counsel to Fortune 500 companies and high-growth ventures on the management of their valuable brand investments. Managing IP recently named her among the Top 250 Women in IP in 2022.

David Bell

As chair of the firm’s Trademark Practice Group, David advises multinational corporations and emerging companies, providing knowledgeable and creative counseling and protection for their brands. He is ranked among the top trademark lawyers in Texas by WTR 1000 from 2012 to 2022.

Matthew Deffebach

As chair of the firm’s OSHA and Workplace Disasters Practice Group, Matt helps clients use preventative measures to minimize claims and reduce exposure to litigation. Matt is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Patrick Hughes

Pat has represented countless business debtors, secured creditors and court appointed committees in numerous restructuring cases throughout the country. He has had an active business litigation practice and has also counseled boards and management teams on various transactional and litigation matters that arise out of restructuring situations.

Bill Kleinman

Bill focuses on strategic M&A, private equity, securities, corporate, and technology law. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs and divestitures, roll-ups, strategic alliances and collaborative transactions, corporate governance, capital formation (equity and debt), and technology/commercial contracting.

Matthew Schindel

A member of the firm’s Executive Committee and past department chair of the Financial Transactions Department, Matthew regularly advises fund sponsors and institutional investors in connection with the formation of, and investment in, U.S. and foreign investment funds, including private equity funds and real estate funds, and fund of funds, as well as co-investment structures
