Haynes Boone is excited to welcome Partner Kelsey Schmidt to the firm’s Denver office and Labor and Employment Practice Group. Schmidt joins from Fox Rothschild, where she has practiced for the past four years.
Schmidt gives employment advice and counsel to employers of all sizes, often representing them in litigation. Her practice covers a wide array of issues within the workplace, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, hiring, handbooks, absences, terminations and union avoidance.
"I am eager to be joining the collaborative culture in place at Haynes Boone,” Schmidt said. “The team-oriented environment is something that I value and I am thrilled to contribute to it at this esteemed firm."
Outside of the office, Schmidt has spent two years as a board member for Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado, an agency that provides free legal services in civil cases to clients who could not otherwise afford them.
"Kelsey's depth of knowledge within labor and employment law make her a valuable addition to our team,” said Denver Office Managing Partner Dan Malone. “Her passion for advocating on behalf of clients aligns perfectly with our firm's values, and we’re so excited to welcome her to Haynes Boone."
Schmidt is the second partner to join Haynes Boone in under a week, with the arrival of Mark Payne in London on May 1, and she is the eighth lateral hire to join Haynes Boone since the turn of the new year.
