Jeff Dorrill Takes A Gold At USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance Championship

October 16, 2017

Haynes Boone Partner Jeff Dorrill won the national championship in his age category (55-59) at the USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance National Championships (an Ironman distance race) in Oklahoma City on Sept. 16.

On a day that USA Triathlon described as windy and challenging, Dorrill completed the 1.5-mile swim (shortened from 2.4 miles because of weather), 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run more than 20 minutes ahead of the runner-up in his age category.

It was the second time this year that Dorrill, a member of Haynes Boone’s Business Planning and Tax Practice, won a national championship in a multisport event. In June, he won his age category in the Draft Legal Sprint Duathlon at the U.S. National Duathlon Championships. That qualified him to compete for Team USA in the 2018 World Duathlon Championships in Odense, Denmark, in July.

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for triathlons, duathlons and other multisport events in the United States.
