Haynes Boone and nine of its lawyers are included in the 2023 edition of Patexia Inc.’s PTAB Intelligence Report on the nation’s leaders in all proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Among the report’s highlights are a number of improved standings: Haynes Boone ranked as the seventh most active firm overall (representing petitioners or patent owners); the sixth best performing firm representing petitioners; the eighth best firm among the 100 Best Performing Law Firms Overall (representing petitioners or patent owners); and remained ranked as the fourth most active firm representing petitioners.
Nine Haynes Boone lawyers – David McCombs, Andrew Ehmke, Eugene Goryunov, Raghav Bajaj, Theo Foster, Gregory Huh, Scott Jarratt, Jonathan Bowser, and Calmann Clements – were ranked among the top practitioners.
The 2023 report covers 7,184 PTAB proceedings, including 6,849 IPRs, 282 post-grant reviews, 48 covered business methods and five derivation proceedings over a five-year period from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2023. Patexia analyzed 4,898 unique patents and 82,457 unique patent claims challenged over the last five years to come up with the activity, success, and performance scores for all attorneys, law firms, and companies on the patent owner and petitioner sides. Patexia also surveyed more than 6,000 lawyers and more than 990 law firms in arriving at its rankings.
