Haynes Boone Adds Former Federal Circuit and PTAB Law Clerk to Growing San Francisco Office

March 12, 2024

Haynes Boone is excited to welcome Associate Laura Vu to the firm’s growing San Francisco office. Laura previously served as a law clerk to Judge Raymond T. Chen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

"Haynes Boone has incredibly strong Federal Circuit and PTAB practices, and I recognize the opportunity I have to work with and learn from the esteemed lawyers at the firm,” Laura said. “I am excited to bring my experience from both the Federal Circuit and PTAB to contribute to the firm's continued success."

Laura’s background as an embedded software engineer, as well as working nearly a decade at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner and PTAB law clerk, equips her with the necessary foundational knowledge to successfully represent clients across many diverse technologies. Laura also has experience assisting with critical phases of litigation, including motions to dismiss, claim construction, infringement, and trial.

“We are delighted to witness the continued growth of our nationwide Federal Circuit and PTAB practices, as exemplified by the addition of Laura,” said San Francisco Office Managing Partner Brian Kwok. “Adding Laura strengthens our bench and underscores our commitment to investing in the best legal talent in the Bay Area."

Laura is the second addition to the San Francisco office in the last two months, joining W. Stephen Wilson’s introduction to the Real Estate Practice Group.
