Haynes Boone Partner Charles A. Beckham, Jr. has been elected President of the American College of Bankruptcy, an organization he has supported for over 20 years as a Fellow, Fifth Circuit Regent and, most recently, as Chair of the College’s Board of Regents.

“We are excited for Charlie as he begins his tenure as the President of the American College of Bankruptcy,” said
Frasher Murphy, Haynes Boone Partner and chair of the Restructuring Practice Group. “Charlie’s career has been defined by excellent service and dedication to his clients, colleagues, and the bankruptcy bar at large. Being elected to this position is well-deserved, and we look forward to seeing Charlie serve in this new role.”

The American College of Bankruptcy is dedicated to the enhancement of Professionalism, Scholarship, and Service in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law Practice by conducting professional educational programs, sponsoring the publication of scholarly reports, promoting Pro Bono efforts through the American College of Bankruptcy Foundation and maintaining the National Bankruptcy Archives, among other programs. Professionals are invited to join as Fellows based on a proven record of the highest standards of expertise, leadership, integrity, professionalism, scholarship, and service to the bankruptcy and insolvency practice and to their communities.

Charlie will serve a two-year term as President of the College. In the role, he serves as the principal operating officer of the College and will lead and participate in numerous College programs and activities around the country.

“I have tremendous respect for the Fellows of the College. I am often in awe that I get to be in the same room with them. They are doing such good work for the bankruptcy community,” Charlie said. “It is an honor to continue to serve the College and help lead it into the future. I am thrilled that part of the future is to implement new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals for the College.”

Charlie will work alongside several Haynes Boone partners who are College Fellows: Stephen Pezanosky, Pat Hughes, and Kenric Kattner.
