Victor Vital Wins 2024 Professionalism and Ethics Award from J.L. Turner Legal Association

August 16, 2024

Haynes Boone Global Trials Chair Victor Vital is the recipient of the 2024 Hon. Sam A. Lindsay Professionalism and Ethics Award given by the J.L. Turner Legal Association – the African American bar association of Dallas.

Vital received the honor at the Annual L.A. Bedford Luncheon held at the Arts District Mansion on Thursday, Aug. 15, an event sponsored by Haynes Boone that recognizes lawyers and judges committed to mentorship, community service and the highest standards of the profession.

The award given to Vital recognizes one person annually who has achieved excellence in the legal profession by upholding an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct. It is named for Judge Sam Lindsay, who was nominated by President Bill Clinton in 1998 as the first Black person to serve on the federal district court in Dallas.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award, particularly one named after such a trailblazer,” Vital said. “Judge Lindsay’s legacy of integrity and excellence in the legal profession is an inspiration, and I am humbled to be recognized in his name.”

This continues a momentous week for Vital, who joined Haynes Boone on Aug. 12 as global chair of the Trials Practice Group. He is renowned for his nearly 30 years of adeptly handling high-stakes cases, often representing major corporate clients, industry leaders and high-net-worth, well-known individuals, whether seeing cases from inception to verdict or being added to legal teams in the months (and sometimes weeks) leading up to trial.

Beyond the courtroom, Vital is committed to the Dallas community, serving in leadership roles the Dallas Education Foundation and Dallas Regional Chamber, among other prestigious organizations.
