Southern California Super Lawyers 2020 Directory Recognizes Three Haynes and Boone Lawyers

Haynes Boone Partners Ken Parker and M.C. Sungaila and Counsel Caroline Hurtado Ford have been listed in the 2020 edition of the Southern California Super Lawyers directory, published by Thomson Reuters.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Of those nominated, only 5% of the lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion.

Parker, recognized for Intellectual Property Litigation handles patent, trademark, copyright and trade secrets cases in courts throughout the U.S. His work spans industries ranging from semiconductors and medical devices to consumer products. Parker is AV Peer Review Rated Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has been included on the Super Lawyer list for eight years (2012-2020). He has been selected as a leading California trademark litigator by World Trademark Review, Globe Business Publishing Ltd. (2013-2020). He was also recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Woodward/White, Inc., for Litigation – IP and Trademark Law in 2017-2020, as well as Orange County’s lawyer of the year in Trademark Law.

Sungaila is recognized in the Appellate category. This is her 17th year on the Super Lawyer list (2004-2020). Previously, she was among the Top 50 Orange County (2011, 2015, 2018) and Top 50 Southern California Women (2008-2011, 2017, 2018) on the list. At the core of her broad appellate practice is her passion for the rule of law and helping shape undeveloped areas within it. She has briefed and argued appeals that raised cutting-edge and core business issues and helped secure important rights for women and girls nationally and internationally. She is once again serving a three-year term on the American Bar Association’s (ABA’s) Standing Committee on Amicus Curiae Briefs, and co-chairs the ABA Litigation Section’s Appellate Practice Committee. She is also on the Board of California’s Pacific Symphony, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and the Orange County Bar Association, and is the chair of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice’s Board of Overseers.

Ford is honored for Insurance Coverage and Business Litigation. As counsel in the Litigation Practice Group, she helps enforce rights and claims under insurance policies on behalf of corporate and public entity policyholders for all lines of insurance. She thrives on providing special insight into her clients' challenges and creates value-oriented strategies for solving business and risk-allocation problems through insurance. Before becoming an attorney, she worked in corporate management, which helps her perceive the practical needs of corporate clients and equips her to recommend cost-effective solutions to insurance recovery problems. Ford has been listed among Super Lawyers for three years (2018-2020) and named a "Top 40 under 40" by the Pacific Coast Business Times, The Business Times Legacy Publishing Division, 2007.
