Haynes Boone’s Oil, Gas Litigation Practice Ranks Among Nation’s Best in Chambers USA 2022

Haynes Boone has one of the Top 13 oil and gas litigation practices in the country, according to the Chambers USA 2022 directory (Chambers and Partners), which also ranked Partners Craig Stahl and Michelle Scheffler and Associate Garrett Martin among the nation’s best energy litigators.

Chambers USA ranked Haynes Boone Band 2 nationwide in oil and gas litigation, saying the firm is “recognized for representing large energy companies in high-stakes litigation [and] deftly handles royalty class actions, breach of contract disputes and other contentious issues arising in the exploration and production sector.”

A market was quoted as saying: "The team are very knowledgeable, efficient and good trial lawyers.”

Chambers ranked Stahl Band 1, as one of the Top 12 oil and gas litigators in the nation, commending him as “an experienced trial lawyer capable of assisting clients with the full spectrum of upstream oil and gas disputes, including class actions and multidistrict litigation concerning royalty payments and lease rights.” The directory quoted a market source who added: “He provides practical advice.”

Scheffler, the co-chair of Haynes Boone’s Oil and Gas Practice Group, was rated an “up and comer” nationwide “for her work defending major oil companies in royalty litigation, contract violation and cost disputes” and is lauded by clients for her in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.

And Martin drew praise from Chambers as “experienced across an array of litigation in the oil and gas sector.” A market source added: "He is extremely hard-working, creative and a good problem solver."
