Haynes Boone Partner Laura Whitley has been selected to participate in the Dallas Regional Chamber’s (DRC’s) prestigious Leadership Dallas program. Whitley is a member of the Finance Practice Group in Haynes Boone’s Dallas office.
The Leadership Dallas program was established in 1975 by the DRC to foster leadership skills and inspire class members to improve engagement within their organizations and communities.
The curriculum calls for class members to address the challenges Dallas community members face. Topics include economic development, public policy, education and workforce, health care, criminal justice, innovation, arts and culture and more.
DRC selects individuals for the program based on proven leadership potential within their organization and in the Dallas community.
“Leadership Dallas has been a cornerstone of community leadership and service for 50 years, nurturing individuals who are passionate about driving positive change in our region,” said Olympia Newman, managing director of leadership programs at the DRC. “This year, we honor our legacy by equipping each participant with the skills and vision to lead with integrity, innovation and inclusivity, ensuring a lasting impact on the Dallas Region for generations to come.”
The Leadership Dallas Class of 2025 includes 55 talented new members from a diverse group of companies and organizations.
“I am honored to join the 50th class of Leadership Dallas,” Whitley said. “I look forward to meeting other leaders from the area while we learn skills that will strengthen the Dallas community.”
Whitley serves as counsel to financial institutions and borrowers in an array of sophisticated finance transactions. She offers clients knowledgeable advice and is dedicated to helping clients meet their business needs and goals.
When not working on behalf of her clients, Whitley is an active member of her community. Since 2007, she has been involved with the Junior League of Dallas, providing hundreds of volunteer service hours to Dallas area non-profits. She also serves on the board of directors for United to Learn and previously served on the board of directors for Promise House.
Several Haynes Boone lawyers have previously participated in the Leadership Dallas program, including Partners Sakina Rasheed Foster, Chris Kang, Raquel Alvarenga and John Turner, Senior Counsel Timothy E. Powers, Counsel Darwin Bruce and of Counsel Rafael Anchia.
