Haynes Boone has achieved Mansfield Rule 6.0 certification after completing a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab. The firm has also achieved Mansfield 6.0 Certification Plus status, which indicates that Haynes Boone has taken steps to increase inclusion and has made measured progress in doing so over the last year. Roughly half of certified firms earn Plus status.
The Mansfield Rule is a structured certification process which is designed to promote a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership for all talent at participating firms. Mansfield is focused on broadening the talent pool for consideration, including those historically underrepresented in the legal profession, to facilitate transparent pathways to leadership.
Intent on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities are inclusive, certified firms considered broad slates of talent for leadership roles that included at least 30% historically underrepresented attorneys – for example, attorneys identifying as women, racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities.
“We are pleased with achieving Mansfield 6.0 Plus Certification, recognizing our firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and market leadership” said Haynes Boone Managing Partner Taylor H. Wilson. “Our goal is to provide equal opportunities for all talented lawyers, and this achievement reflects our ongoing dedication to advancing equality within the legal profession."
Haynes Boone earned the additional Mansfield Certification Plus designation, reserved for firms that voluntarily measure the outcomes of their inclusive processes and have achieved positive results.
“At a time when efforts to expand opportunities to underrepresented groups are needed now more than ever, these Mansfield firms are making their advancement processes more open and transparent,” said Alyssa Jarvis, director of Mansfield & strategic innovations at Diversity Lab. “The firms honored for achieving Certification have articulated and broadened the paths to leadership. The expectations, and avenues to success, have never been clearer. And this commitment to transparency benefits everyone. I am proud to work with each of these firms.”
