November 08, 2023

Haynes Boone is pleased to announce the addition of Counsel Leel Sinai to the firm’s New York office and Finance section. Leel provides practical, action-oriented regulatory advice in the banking, payments and anti-money laundering regulatory spaces.

Leel comes to Haynes Boone from White & Case, LLP. He has diverse experience as an attorney, including working in-house and as a regulatory consultant. His practice focuses on bank and financial services regulation, innovation in digital assets and payments, and anti-money laundering.

"Haynes Boone has an incredible reputation in the industry as an innovative, nimble and forward-looking firm that provides its attorneys with everything they need for success,” Leel said. “The opportunity to apply my skills and regulatory experience in the Haynes Boone environment and a high-growth practice is attractive. I look forward to enhancing the firm’s ability to provide end-to-end solutions for bank and FinTech clients."

Leel routinely counsels clients on the strategic design and implementation of enhanced regulatory compliance and risk management programs. Additionally, Leel has experience conducting internal investigations and leading remedial initiatives in response to regulatory examination results.

“Leel is a tremendous addition to our New York office,” Haynes Boone New York Office Managing Partner Craig Unterberg said. “With our large banking practice at Haynes Boone, we are continuing to expand our Chambers-ranked Financial Regulatory practice. Leel will play a critical role in this expansion with his extensive experience in bank regulatory matters.”

Outside of the office, Leel volunteers for the American Jewish Committee, where he is a board member for ACCESS NY and ACCESS Global, a community of young Jewish leaders in New York that supports AJC’s mission of combating antisemitism, promoting Israel’s place in the world, and countering the spread of radicalism and extremism, through building relationships and forming alliances with a diverse range of diplomatic and community partners. He currently serves as the Vice President for ACCESS Global.
