Haynes Boone is pleased to welcome Litigation Partner Kevin Crisp to the firm’s Orange County office. Kevin joins from Troutman Pepper LLP, where he gained nearly a decade of experience in commercial litigation, homeowners’ association disputes, and government investigations. Before that, Kevin was an associate at Irell & Manella LLP for five years.
Clients turn to Kevin for counsel on a range of commercial litigation matters, including corporate fiduciary duty, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy matters, as well as all manner of business torts and contract cases. A banker before he was a lawyer, Kevin especially thrives in matters involving finance and accounting issues.
Kevin’s achievements include obtaining summary judgment for his clients in several matters, including on behalf of a major online marketing agency against a former executive seeking control of the company, a large financial institution against a third-party beneficiary alleging various claims for tens of millions of dollars in purported investment losses, a leading defense contractor against another contractor seeking indemnity for several millions of dollars in alleged damages, and a major car manufacturer against a former executive suing for $90 million in purported equity.
Kevin also obtained important trial wins on behalf of a registered investment advisor against their former employer as well as on behalf of a major real estate marketplace against their former employees.
Kevin's significant other representations include defending the former owners and managers of a large master-planned community against a $500 million case alleging breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfer, defending the senior officers of a leading subprime mortgage originator against a $400 million suit alleging breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfer, and defending one of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers in connection with a $300 million acquisition.
Kevin’s addition to Haynes Boone’s growing Orange County office and Southern California presence is an ideal opportunity for both sides, as he bolsters the firm’s litigation practice.
"Haynes Boone is a highly respected firm with a strong litigation team,” he said. “The people here are exceptional, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued success in California. With its impressive strength in banking and litigation, Haynes Boone is the perfect fit for my career goals and for my clients."
