Carla Verena Green, an associate in Haynes Boone’s Litigation Practice Group, has begun her tenure as President of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association (DHBA).
Among her first orders of business, Carla and Haynes Boone will host a board retreat February 10 and 11, where board members will lay out the organization’s priorities for the year.
The DHBA provides a forum through which Hispanic attorneys in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex can come together to exchange ideas and to pursue common goals. The purpose of DHBA is to promote the social, economic, educational, and civic advancement of the Hispanic community in the DFW Metroplex by making the legal system more accessible to the Hispanic community and more responsive to its needs.
Carla’s practice focuses on the enforcement of rights and claims under insurance policies on behalf of corporate and public entity policyholders. Carla has represented clients across various lines of insurance including commercial general liability, directors and officers, cyber, and commercial property policies.
Apart from her client work, Carla is also heavily involved in giving back to the community, both through her work with Haynes Boone and the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association. Carla recently worked hand-in-hand with the Texas Civil Rights Project to represent parents separated from their children after seeking asylum at the US-Mexico border.
Before practicing law, Carla was a bilingual elementary school teacher and assistant principal in Brownsville, Texas. Carla strongly believes that it is imperative to give back to your community, both as an educator and an attorney.
