Haynes Boone Partner Brian Vella has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL). This national organization consists of attorneys who demonstrate “skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice, or in the teaching, of construction law, and who are dedicated to excellence in the specialized practice of construction law.” Admission to the ACCL is highly selective and candidates are invited to join only after a lengthy application and vetting process.
As members of the college, fellows have access to professional workshops and educational programs. The organization is a forum that works to identify and address major legal issues confronting the construction industry.
"It is an honor to become part of an organization with such a talented group of construction law experts," said Vella. "I'm eager to contribute to and gain insights from the important conversations surrounding the challenges we face in this industry."
Vella will work alongside Senior Counsel Val McWhorter, also an ACCL fellow.
“I am thrilled to see Brian admitted as a Fellow of ACCL,” said McWhorter. “Brian's career has been characterized by his exceptional devotion to serving his clients and his work with fellow professionals and the construction sector on critical issues affecting the industry.”
In addition to ACCL, Vella is also in his first year of a four-year term as a member of the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority (VNECA). Additionally, he is a charter fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, and is a member of The Moles, a fraternal organization made up of professionals serving the heavy construction industry.
