Haynes Boone Recognized for DEI Standards, Performance in Bloomberg Law’s 2023 DEI Framework

July 27, 2023

Bloomberg Law has recognized Haynes Boone’s demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) by naming the firm to its 2023 DEI Framework.

Haynes Boone is among 55 U.S.-based law firms recognized in the DEI Framework for their level of disclosure of diversity-related metrics and distinguished performance against five core pillars: leadership and talent pipelines, recruitment and retention, business innovation and strategy, bias and harassment training, and diverse branding.

Haynes Boone beat the industry average score in general firm demographics, leadership and talent pipeline, recruitment and retention, marketing and DEI in the community, and disclosure. This is the second consecutive year for Haynes Boone to be listed in Bloomberg Law’s DEI Framework.

“Recognitions such as Bloomberg Law’s 2023 DEI Framework designation exemplify our continued success in keeping excellence in DEI as a core value of Haynes Boone,” said Sharon Jones, Haynes Boone’s chief DEI officer. “Rankings such as this help build momentum to support recruitment and retention of the best cross-section of diverse talent.”

The DEI Framework was developed in 2021 in collaboration with Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index team, as well as diversity leads at corporations and law firms. Performance is assessed across more than 85 metrics, each associated with one of the framework’s five benchmarks. The methodology and selection criteria are reviewed and updated annually to ensure alignment with industry trends, methodologies, and best practices.

“I’m pleased to report that the number of participants in the Bloomberg Law DEI framework again saw double digit growth year-on-year. This is a clear signal that momentum for championing diversity, equity and inclusion in law firms has continued to grow,” said Joe Breda, president of Bloomberg Law. “Our results indicate participants are not only talking about DEI but are putting plans into action.”

The Bloomberg Law DEI Framework follows the firm’s many other DEI accolades of 2023:
