January 28, 2025

Charlotte Business Journal (CBJ) will honor Haynes Boone Partner Aleks Kopec at its 2025 Women in Business Awards.

These awards recognize 25 outstanding businesswomen who have made significant contributions to their professions and to their communities during the past year.

The honorees will receive their awards during an in-person event March 20 at The Westin Charlotte.

“Aleks has a proven track record of excellence and has been a major contributor to the Charlotte community, said Haynes Boone Charlotte Office Managing Partner Justin Riess in nominating Kopec for the award. “Not only has she made a huge impact on the Charlotte region’s business landscape, but she has set the bar for women in the industry, being an exceptional role model, mentor and leader.”

Kopec’s practice focuses on representing lenders and borrowers in a variety of finance transactions, including leveraged finance, capital call facilities, NAV facilities and other fund finance products. Her extensive experience in the financial markets in New York and Charlotte provides clients with uniquely sophisticated advice on their specific lending needs and products. Kopec is often retained to provide in-depth representation with respect to lending policies and best practices in addition to transactional work and clients value her commitment to the growth of their business. Her comprehensive knowledge of the fund finance industry and the legal and business issues relating to fund finance products make her an invaluable advisor in the field.

Kopec is the chair of the board of Alexander Children’s Foundation, leading the support for the largest provider of mental health services for children in the state of North Carolina. She is also an active champion of human trafficking survivors, heading up several pro bono matters for such survivors at any given time.
