David Ammons, a commercial litigator board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, has joined Haynes Boone as a litigation partner in the Houston office.
Ammons, who currently serves as chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Energy Law section, focuses his practice on representing onshore and offshore oil and gas producers, gas marketing companies, pipeline companies, and petrochemical and refining companies in complex state and federal suits, including lease, joint interest and royalty disputes, and class actions.
“We are excited to have a lawyer of David’s stature and reputation join the firm,” said Managing Partner Tim Powers. “Energy is one of the pillars of the firm, and David will help us deepen our already formidable capacity to represent oil and gas clients in a variety of upstream and midstream disputes.”
In the past 12 months, energy litigators Craig Stahl, Jeffrey Kuehnle, and Michelle Scheffler and corporate lawyer Bill McDonald, who has significant experience representing companies in the energy and oilfield services industries, have joined Haynes Boone as partners in Houston and The Woodlands.
“I was drawn to Haynes Boone by its deep bench in energy litigation and its commitment to further growing that bench,” Ammons said. “Additionally, the firm has stellar energy transactional, intellectual property, and restructuring practices, along with well-established offices in London, Denver and Mexico City. This allows Haynes Boone to bring a multi-disciplinary approach to handling energy clients’ issues both domestically and abroad.”
In addition to his energy litigation practice, Ammons has handled a variety of other complex commercial disputes, including director and officer disputes, fiduciary litigation, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and financial litigation.
