Getting the Deal Through - Shipping 2019: Mexico

September 07, 2018

Eduardo Corzo, a Counsel in Haynes Boone’s Mexico City office who focuses on maritime and shipping law, contributed to a new legal guide titled, “Getting the Deal Through – Shipping 2019.” Eduardo wrote the chapter that covers shipping as governed by the law of Mexico. Each chapter in the guide covers key issues such as ship registrations and mortgages, maritime liens, and responsibilities and liabilities of the shipping company. The Mexico chapter is a brand new section and is included for the first time in the latest edition of the guide. Additionally, the chapter on Mexico looks at trends related to cabotage navigation, fair competition, a shift toward more open markets, and the effect of Mexico’s energy reform on shipping.

We are also pleased to announce that William Cecil and Fiona Cain of Haynes Boone’s London office authored the chapter on shipbuilding contracts governed by the law of England and Wales in the recent Getting The Deal Through: Shipbuilding 2018 guide.

This is part of the series of Getting the Deal Through law guides published by Law Business Research that provide an overview of specialist areas of the law in a variety of international jurisdictions. It is published annually and the eleventh edition, published in June 2018, covers 37 jurisdictions, as well as a global overview. Leading practitioners from each jurisdiction answer the same key questions related to shipping.
