Haynes and Boone Mexico City Grows with Two Respected Attorneys

MEXICO CITY - The Haynes and Boone, LLP Mexico City office capabilities have been expanded with the addition of
Mauricio Sanders and
Julio Planas.

Sanders, who comes to the firm as a senior attorney in the
Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group, focuses on corporate law, contracts, civil law, corporate finance, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and e-commerce. In 2011, he was awarded the Level B2 Pass in the International Legal English Certificate by the Council of Europe. Additionally, Sanders has served as the Negotiable and Credit Transactions Instruments Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
He received his law degree from National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2000 and his LL.M. from Duke University, School of Law in 2005.
Planas, joining Haynes and Boone as of counsel in the
Business Planning and Tax section, focuses on tax and foreign trade litigation and consultation, tax and custom treaties, administrative and regulatory issues, IMMEX (Maquiladora) and export programs, transfer pricing compliance, antidumping matters and corporate law and tax effects of contractual matters.
Planas has led educational courses including “International Taxation Frame” and “International Commercial Treaties and International Law” in the masters program in auditing and international taxation at the Universidad Panamericana, where he received his law degree. In addition, he achieved his Diplomate in International Taxation at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and Duke University.
The
